Spooky season is nearly upon us. The darker nights are drawing in and we can almost taste the pumpkin spiced lattes! To get you prepared for Halloween, we’ve put together a guide of what’s happening in and around Surrey this half term with fun for children and adults.

Aqua Sports for October half term


Aqua Sports

Did you know the water at Mercers Lake is warmest in Autumn! So, why not take the opportunity to get on the water one more time with Aqua Sports before the Winter arrives? No prior water sports experience is needed to join, and those with experience are very welcome. The October half term multi activity camp is perfect for children aged 8-13 years.

Aqua Sports are hosting their very first Halloween evening on 31st October with Swim sessions from 16:30-17:30 and Paddle sessions from 17:30-19:30. This event is being held for children aged 8+ with a minimum of level 1 experience. Book your Halloween splash here.

And for the adults? You can hire a SUP, surf or paddle sport of your choice, or stick to the shoreline and indulge in a hot chocolate or delicious fish and chips from their resident chef Kyle. Book your place here.


Bocketts Farm, Witches and Wizard’s Week


Bocketts Farm

Bocketts Farm is holding their annual Witches and Wizard’s week with fun for all the family. You can encounter a range of reptiles and creepy crawlies in Tom’s Talking Reptile Roadshow, enjoy exciting science and slime shows with Einstein’s entertainers, or follow a spooktacular trail to collect all the spooky stamps. There are plenty of photo opportunities to take advantage of in the pumpkin village or hop on board the tractor and trailer ride to meet the rabbits, guinea pigs and ponies! Bocketts Farm are open every day from 10am – 5:30pm.

Caterham Valley’s Annual Halloween Trail

It’s time for Caterham Valley to host their annual Halloween Trail. Wendy the Witch is ready to party and has conjured a magical trail through the enchanted Valley of Caterham, leading to the most spooktacular Halloween bash of the season. Come and stir up magic in Caterham! Free fun for all the family, on Saturday 26th October and Thursday 31st October from 10am-3pm, starting in Church Walk Shopping Centre (CR3 6RT).

Thorpe Park Fright Nights

Thorpe Park is returning with their premier Halloween Fright Night from 4th-6th, 11th-13th and 17th October through to 3rd November. For thrill seekers, there’s rollercoasters under the night lights or even take on award-winning live action scare mazes.

Thorpe Park’s new ride Hyperia is ready to experience in the dark. Feel weightless as you plummet 236ft from the night sky towards the valley below, reaching speeds of over 80 mph!

Tulleys Pumpkin Festival


Tulleys Pumpkin Festival

This is a great activity for children of all ages. Take a tour of Tulleys Pumpkin Patch and experience 100 acres of farmland, 100 varieties of pumpkin and countless memories! The are plenty of photo opportunities and they even have live roaming characters who are residents of the “Pumpkin Village”. Indulge in delicious street food, a delightful selection of cocktails at the pumpkin bar and even take a ride on the observation wheel.

For an adult friendly experience visit the pumpkin farm at night for their Pumpkin Nights experience. Enjoy the pumpkin fields lit up under glistening lights and dance to live music at the stage!

Experience Halloween as if you were a Hogwarts student, stepping into the Great Hall with over 100 pumpkins floating above a spooky feast. Death Eaters will make an appearance throughout the tour with sinister costumes and choreography as seen on screen!

New for 2024 are Dementors who will also be lurking throughout the Studio Tour. There is also an opportunity for you to discover the symbol of Lord Voldemort and to collect your Studio Tour passport upon arrival to join the hunt for the Dark Mark.
