With a shot of warm sunshine last week, Spring is now firmly upon us and the brighter weather has arrived just in time for the start of festival event season! Events can be a great way to get your brand message out there. The variety of activities coming up over the next month, which includes the inaugural and now sold out Reigate Beer Walk with Crumbs Brewing, is a testament to how popular local community events are, especially in a community-focused town like Reigate.
Reigate has many businesses that are very active in the community. There is a wonderful network of independents who support one another, home-grown charities and run local initiatives. Whether businesses host events to market their products and increase awareness of their brand or to raise funds for their chosen charities, this all means there is lots going on for the local community!
Here are details of some of the local events coming up in the next 4 weeks:
29 April – The Crafter’s Market, 2pm to 4:45pm
This monthly market is held at Reigate Priory School. The Crafter’s Market hosts stalls that are full of beautiful handmade crafts, made by local artisans. From Silversmiths to cakes to framed pictures, there are many unique gift ideas.
6 May – The YMCA Fun Run 2018
As part of the borough’s Festival of Sport, this year’s YMCA Fun Run takes place on Sunday May 6th in Reigate Priory Park. It’s a fun day for all the family. There are races for adults and children of all ages and abilities to take part in. There will be food stalls, a bouncy castle and face painting, as well as the opportunity to meet local sports clubs and try out new sports.
12 May – Hartsfield Manor Food & Drink Festival, 2pm to 9pm
In partnership with the Reigate Round Table, Hartsfield Manor are holding a local food and drink festival. There will be the chance to enjoy food & drink from local suppliers. Children go free and tickets are £4 for adults. Click here for more information.
12 May – George and the Giant Pledge Barn Dance, 7:30pm to 11:30pm
Enjoy a night of fun, fundraising and do-si-do’ing in aid of this inspirational local charity. George and the Giant Pledge are raising money for The Royal Marsden to help beat childhood cancer. The Barn Dance is being held in the sports hall at St Mary’s School.
Tickets are £20 and include a Fish’n’Chips dinner from local business Deep Blue. Ladies are asked to avoid wearing heels – after all, how many cowgirls do you see in stilettos?! Click here to book your tickets.
18 & 19 May – Reigate Tunnel Beer Festival, 12pm to 10:30pm
A community beer festival supported by the Redhill Redstone Rotary Club with all proceeds going to charity. Beer donated by local business is sold and the proceeds go towards Prostrate Cancer Research and St Catherine’s Hospice.
